Register of Security Consultants
The Security Institute of Ireland is pleased to announce the launch of its Register of Security Consultants. Entry onto the register is open only to qualified and experienced professionals who meet the Institute’s specific published criteria and are engaged in:
- Loss Prevention
- Crime Prevention
- Asset Risk Management
- Security Risk Assessment
- Security Auditing and Surveying
- Court Reports
- Professional Witness
- Security Advice
- Risk Analysis
- Security Planning
- Project Management.
This new initiative provides professional security consultants with recognition of their status and an opportunity to promote their services by having their name, qualifications and contact information published on the Security Institute website.
Prior to approval and entry onto the register, applicants must have proven experience over ten years within the security industry and currently at management level. Qualifications must be relevant to the role of the security consultant. Access to a “Recognition of Prior Learning” process is available to those who have acquired experience over time but may not have achieved sufficient certification to qualify automatically.
Applicants will agree to the Security Institute’s code of conduct and an undertaking to uphold the standards set by the Security Institute. The register is published on the Security Institute website and subject to annual renewal. Continuous professional development is a critical requirement of the renewal process. Successful applicants will be presented with a Security Institute of Ireland certificate verifying their status as a “Registered Security Consultant”.
The all-inclusive annual fee is €120-00. Fees paid now (2016) for registration in respect of the launching of this initiative cover next years (2017) subscription.
Workshops and seminars will be run on a regular basis for registered consultants.
