- QQI Minor Award in Door Security Procedures at Level 4 (10 Credits)
- SII Certificate in Static Security
- SII Certificate in Retail Security
- SII Certificate in Door Security
- SII Certificate in Event Security
- SII Certificate in Responding to Threats and Violence.
This mandatory course was developed for those wishing to become a PSA (Private Security Authority) licenced Security Officer and/or a licenced DSP (Door Security Person). The skills and knowledge acquired will assist with the delivery of a professional service. On completion of the course the security officer and/or DSP will work effectively either alone or in a team in a range of diverse security environments.
Course content includes The Private Security Industry; The Private Security Authority; Security Officer; Loss Prevention and Crime Prevention; Legislation and Regulations; Safety, Health and Welfare; General Security Procedures; Door Security; Static Security; Retail Security; Event Security; Fire and Emergencies; Threats and Violence; Communications; Customer Care and Quality Service The course duration is scheduled for 50 hours of directed or classroom study and 80 hours of self-directed of home-study, practice and research. Course duration may vary with the quality and knowledge of the candidates.
All assessment criteria must be completed during the course and submitted on the last day of the course.
